MISSION STATEMENT
The Division of Police strives to enhance the quality of life for all village residents and those who work in or visit our community. This is accomplished by providing a high level of safety and public services delivered as efficiently as possible through a local government that is accessible, cooperative, responsive and fiscally responsible, embracing high standards of ethics and accountability to the citizens we serve.
To accomplish our mission, The Lexington Division of Police provides 24 hour police coverage to the residents of the Village as well as those who work in, visit, or travel through. We protect an area just under 4 square miles, covering roughly 25 miles of roadway, with a population of approximately 4822 residents (2010 Census). The department is authorized 11 full-time and 10 part-time officers. Our auxiliary unit supplements coverage. These officers are supported by 4 full-time and 7 part-time communications personnel, as well as a Clerk of Courts, and 3 police chaplains.
