Plea Descriptions
In Court, three pleas are permitted and you are required to enter one:
- GUILTY: is an admission of the offense as charged.
- NOT GUILTY: is a denial of the offense as charged.
- NO CONTEST: is an admission of the truth of facts in the affidavit and cannot be used against you in any subsequent criminal or civil proceedings.
If the offense with which you were charged arose out of a motor vehicle accident, a plea of Guilty can be used against your interest in a civil suit, should one arise.
If you plead Not Guilty, your case will be transferred to Mansfield Municipal Court for trial.
