Adam originally was appointed in 1996 to fill a vacancy on Council. He served through 1997. At age 24, he was the youngest Councilman the Village has had.
Adam was then elected in November 1999 to begin Council in January 2000. Due to a new job, Adam resigned his Council position at the end of 2003.
Adam won the election in November 2013 but was asked by Council to begin his duties early as Councilman on November 18, 2013 to fill a vacant seat left by Charles Pscholka who had moved out of the Village.
Adam was reelected in 2022 and became Council President as elected by the remaining members in 2024.
