The Greek Festival in Mansfield, St. Peter's Festival, and the Carrousel Arts Festival are just a few of many activities that enlighten Richland County. Many fairs can be visited throughout the warmer months in adjacent Villages, one is the Bellville Street Fair that boasts to be the World's Fair.
The Mansfield Art Center displays its beauty within an award winning, modern wood and glass building nestled on 8.5 acres of wooded meadow. Annual exhibits bring many people to Manfield to view and participate in the world of Art.
Race fans flock to view the first in Ohio in 50 years, the NASCAR race event, at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway. In May, 2004 NAASCAR Craftsman Truck Series came to Mansfield and saw over 100,000 visitors. Another popular race track is Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course located less than 5 miles from the Village of Lexington. The 2.4 mile course features national and international events, one of the most popular is the Vintage Motorcycle Days.
Also located in the center of Lexington, as well as the center of Richland County is the B & O Bike Trail. A trail formerly built on the Baltimore and Ohio Railway that is 18.4 miles one way. The trail takes the rider, walker, or jogger through scenic farmlands, wooded areas, river crossings and three Villages. Emergency call boxes are readily available along with better visibility at road junctions.
